Inform your doctor and pharmacist of all the supplements, vitamins, and drugs you are currently taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: Aminoglycoside antibiotics like amikacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin (Neo-Fradin, Neo-Rx), streptomycin, and tobramycin (Tobi); amphotericin B (Abelcet, AmBisome, Amphocin, Fungizone); angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors like benazepril (Lotensin), capto (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan). Your doctor may need to adjust your medication dosages or keep a close eye on you for any adverse reactions.
Before taking sirolimus, you should wait 4 hours after taking cyclosporine (Neoral) soft gelatin capsules or solution.
Discuss any herbal remedies with your medical professional, including St. John’s wort.
You must discuss this with your doctor if you have high cholesterol, triglycerides, or liver disease.
Do not hesitate to inform your doctor of your pregnancy, your plans to become pregnant, or your current status as a breastfeeding mother. Before starting sirolimus, during sirolimus treatment, and for 12 weeks after stopping sirolimus, you should use an effective method of birth control. Talk to your doctor right away if you get pregnant while taking sirolimus.
Tell your dentist and surgeon that you take sirolimus before any surgery, including dental work.
