Asthma is a commonly known chronic disease. Such medicines work by reducing the amount of inflammation and also prevent the occurrence of asthma attacks.

- Long-acting beta2 agonists: these need to be inhaled to open the airways. It needs to be used along with corticosteroids. Example: formoterol.
