Oxaliplatin injections are given in conjunction with other drugs (e.g., fluorouracil, leucovorin) to treat advanced cancer of the rectum or colon. One can also use it to treat colon cancer, which is severe for patients who have undergone an operation.
Oxaliplatin is an antineoplastic drug (cancer treatment). It inhibits the growth of cancerous cells. The body then destroys them.
The medication should be administered only by or under the supervision of a physician.
